A caller into the syndicated Larry Elder Show yesterday mentioned a California license plate that he saw on a Los Angeles freeway: F DUBYA. Come to find out it belongs to a smug Volvo-driving liberal from Santa Monica.
Yesterday on the Larry Elder show, a caller reported seeing a license plate in Santa Monica on a Volvo. It said "F Dubya". Then, the purported owner of the vehicle, a jerk named Phil, called in to the show. He was really proud.Californians who want to protest this plate and have it yanked can write to: DMV Registration, Attn: Headquarters, P.O. Box 942869, Sacramento, CA 94269.After a few minutes, Larry handed Phil his lunch. He claimed to be well-read but Larry showed him to be a hate-filled Santa Monica liberal fool.
Let's do more than hand him his lunch. I spoke to the DMV, and if they get more than one letter, they will look into taking back a plate that citizens find offensive. The woman with whom I spoke, understood how the plate could be offensive. An "F Kerry" plate would not, because Kerry is a real last name. No one has the name Dubya; the only reference anywhere is that it is the nickname of our commander in chief.
On the show, Phil said that he couldn't believe they allowed him to have the plate.
Sounds like a plan to me.
Posted by mhking at September 29, 2004 03:00 PMYou shouldn't support anything that restrict free speech especially when its harmless, how is this different than a bumber sticker.
And the state got some extra money for a customized plate.
Posted by: Scott at September 29, 2004 03:33 PMThe state does not issue "offensive" plates -- this certainly would fall in that realm.

Uh huh, and tell me again why several states' Supreme Courts have ruled that Pro-Life license plates are a violation of the 1st Amendment?
With liberals, it seems that the 1st Amendment only applies if you agree with them.
Turnabout is fair play.
Posted by: Robert at September 29, 2004 07:59 PMI can understand people in California who see the plate, being offended and complaining about the plate.
What you are doing, however, stinks.
I've gathered that you aren't in Cali.
Many years ago I saw a Connecticut license plate: "MERDE"
Heh
Posted by: The Commissar at September 29, 2004 09:29 PMYou conservatives crack me up...when something is not the way you like it, you'll do everything in your power to ruin someone else. Why don' you get a life and stop worrying so much about what other people are doing and saying...it is supposed to be a _FREE_ country...
Posted by: Z at June 6, 2005 04:07 PMYou guys are COMEDY you are upset about a plate on a car that isn't even in your State. You do not worry about homosexual male prostitutes pretending to be reporters staying at the White House all night. Naw, that is not a big deal having security compromised to have a gay prostitute show up on days with no news events with no check out times according to the Secret Service. Hell this plate is also more important that those soldiers in Iraq getting maimed, crippled, and killed in the name of a treasonous offense. How can Bush being proven to knowingly lie to Congress in his address and take us into a known bogus war ever convey the importance of this plate?! This plate just eclipses all the crimes of the White House giving out secret operatives names to punish someone who wanted to tell the truth...an act of treason again. Hey this is your guy be proud of this criminal behavior and his ability to take our money and rebuild a Nation which never attacked us nor intended to attack us...bankrupt the Country on a lie and leave children with no parents and wifes widows...BUT IT'S THIS PLATE THAT IS THE PROBLEM! Not the flag draped coffins of the fallen who gave their all to a man who lied to make money and sacrifice their lives in the process.
Sad....support you treasonous cowardly gay prostitute loving guy...what a disgrace...BUT THE PLATE IS THE PROBLEM...retards.
Posted by: Harvester at June 8, 2005 04:00 PMF DUBYA will be on my next license plate! Free Speech Baby!
Posted by: Aaron at June 9, 2005 02:43 PMHey, this is Phil, the guy with the plate. They're not upset about a plate, they are upset that somebody might be questioning their insane allegiance to the Siths. How dare we! Question: how can you people look at what Bush has done, and listen to him speak like a retarded ape, and think this is a good thing??
And Elder didn't hand anybody their lunch. He only showed himself to be a disingenuous b.s. artist like the rest of them.
