American Eugene Armstrong beheaded by terrorists in Iraq

One of the three hostages being held by Iraqi terrorists associated with Al Qaeda (one Briton, two American) has been beheaded, and the video shown on a website previously associated with terrorist activities.

Eugene Armstrong has been identified by CNN from the posted video as the victim of the decapitation murder.

An Islamic Web site Monday showed video of an American hostage, identified as Eugene Armstrong, being beheaded in Iraq by members of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's group. On Saturday, the Arabic-language network Al-Jazeera aired video of two Americans and one Briton being held hostage, with their abductors giving a 48-hour deadline for their demands to be met.
This does nothing to ease the terror being felt by the family of the other American kidnapee, Jack Hensley of Marietta, nor of the loved ones of Briton Kenneth Bigsley.

Hensley's wife, Patti, appeared on ABC's Good Morning America today, and said that she was advised not to speak to reporters.

Patty Hensley said she was advised not to speak to reporters, but she wanted her husband's kidnappers to know more about him and to realize that he doesn't wish them any harm.

"Let them come home," she said. "My God is praying for them. Allah is sending them a message, too, saying that to hurt these men is not going to serve any purpose. Just send them home. Send them home to their families, please." Patty Hensley said she's had difficulty explaining the crisis to her daughter, especially since her father is in Iraq to help the country.

"We raised our daughter to believe that everybody in the world is good," she said. "And you know, her first question to me was, 'Why would anybody hurt my daddy?' And I can't explain."

Hensley's wife and 13 year-old daughter are at their home in Marietta.

Hensley, Armstrong and Bigley work for Gulf Supplies & Commercial Services, a construction firm based in United Arab Emirates working on rebuilding Iraq.

I'm beyond tired. There's no way any rational, thinking individual can claim that any kind of "god" or pathetic, cultish, insane excuse for a religion would encourage the wholesale murder of anyone.

MyPetJawa has still image captures of the video of the gruesome beheading (WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES). The beheading video itself is being hosted by Northeast Intelligence Network.

These predators are evil. And their perversion of religion, packaged for the masses as "Islam" is also evil.

There will come a time -- and that time is rapidly approaching -- when the civilized world will step beyond the bounds of patience and logic and civil discourse, and resort to extermination.

And while civil discourse has it's place, it's usefulness is limited to dealing with rational, thinking, logical people. These Islamic terrorists are neither rational, nor thinking, nor logical, and I hesitate to refer to them as people.

UPDATE: According to Reuters, Armstrong's body has been recovered and identified in Iraq.

Sigh.

It's sad that people actually teach their children that 'everybody in the world is good.' It would be so much more honest to say that everyone has the capacity for good and everyone has the capacity for evil and that ultimately people will choose one path or the other.

I have stepped over the bounds of that civility long ago. When dealing with these animals who have chosen evil, it's useless.

Lord, look after this man family and give our troops and leaders the will to resist this evil to put them down once and for all.

Well said, our patience must end and retribution begin. The time for talking is over, the time for methodical extermination must commence.

Maybe Bush was wrong for taking us in there WHEN he did, or for the reasons stated at the time. But, in the final analysis one look at that video of Nick Berg being decapitated, and I have no alternative but to say we're being too kind. There is no way other than torture to extract the information we need from the hardcore extremists they capture; and if the clowns who sawed that poor kids head off are any indication of their resolve, we'd better get a damned sight nastier and fast! How many more have to be treated to decapitation by a rusty butter knife before we all decide winning is the only way to end this?

Why is nothing being done?!
Has the public grown so decensitized to beheadings, that it has become page 6 news?!!
Dear President Bush...it sickens me that you seem to think that these lives are just a consequence of war and that you haven't done everything you can to capture these savages. These animals are right in the thick of military battle!! but their capture and subsequent exterminination is not high on your agenda..
You shame us Mr President!!...
You sicken me with your arrogance and redneck politics and devil may care sheepish grin.
It's absolutely disgusting....How can this be?
Beheadings are just a sidenote to your re-election campaign....where is your heart Mr President?
If that was one of your beloved daughters...would you sit idle? or would you wage a fiery hell to find these cowardly savages and return the favor?
Absolutely disgusting...

To those who think our President isn't doing his job.....When did you decide to STAND UP and be COUNTED???!! You think we should get the guy that is doing all the killing of innocent Americans...sign up, then you can let your voice be heard. When your life actions match your big, mighty words......then you have every right to speak up.....But spare us your high minded words if you aren't ready to pay a price for the freedom you desire!

Oh Dear God, why would anyone in their right mind go anywhere near those countries to help rebuild. They live in barbaric times and nothing is ever going to make terrorism go away. At least when Sudam Hussein was in power there was order in the country. Maybe the people he got rid of were exremists as well. What do we know about the way they live. Leave them the hell alone. Sr. Bush started the hatred toward us and now his son has deepened the hatred and unfortunately it will never go away. The best thing is for civilians anywhere in the world should not go to help rebuild under any circumstances. If they do, then they should not beg for mercy when they are captured and beheaded. You go at your own risk!!

Truly, saddened and agrieved..

Jack Armstrong was a friend of mine. we worked together from 1995 to 1997 in Angola. He was always ready to accept any challenge to complete the mission. Upon my return to Canada and his return to Bangkok we kept in touch via email. I last heard from my friend on May 21. His mood was positive but aware of the danger that lurked everywhere for those not from the West. I will miss my brother deeply and can only pray that those resposible for this inhumane act are caught and terminated with extreme prejudice.

the only way to deal with iraq and the rest of the terrorists is to f**cking nuke them. Nuke them all. Incinerate them. They don't want to be happy or alive anyways. They all just want to fight amonst themselves like little f**cking toads with brain damage. Might as well do the whole world and them a favor and just fry the stupid bastards. Then we could just remember all their self righteous bullshit instead of seeing it going on in front of our faces

The only way to stop all these problems is to understand that we are all ignorant and that we must all get rid of our own delusions before we can help anyone else. Just look on this page at the hatred and anger shown to others.
How does this help? It never will.
Always have a peacefull mind even to those causing us harm.
