IL Senate candidate Barack Obama to give keynote at DNC
Barack Obama, Democratic US Senate candidate from Illinois, will give the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday night, July 27, according to information released today.
Obama will talk about the future of America that a Democratic administration would provide, along with the need to make jobs, families and communities top priorities in the lives of Americans.
"Barack is an optimistic voice for America and a leader who knows that together we can build an America that is stronger at home and respected in the world," Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said in a statement.Obama, a noted lawyer and instructor at the Chicago Law School, currently faces no registered opponent in the Senatorial race. The GOP nominated opponent, Jack Ryan, withdrew his name from the race amid a sex scandal last month.
